6th September – After one of the wettest Augusts for years, the first week of September didn’t promise any improvement but things have improved, brighter but not warmer. The heating will be going on soon.
We had a nice sailing ship come in today, Georg Stage is a Danish sail training ship built in 1934. It still looks good for its years.

28th September – It’s been a poor month for postings, we’ve not been doing much this month, so we decided to have a trip down to Turriff, in Aberdeenshire. More specifically, Delgatie Castle, just outside Turriff. Built around 1030, the castle is a popular visitor attraction and they let two apartments as self-catering accommodation.

Our apartment is ridiculously big for two people, three bedrooms over three floors, but the place is well equipped. Conveniently, the castle has a tearoom that does breakfast and lunch.
When we arrived last night it had been raining heavily but we were cheered by the friendly lady in the upper window watching our arrival.

The rooms are comfortable but the pyjamas are a bit rough and scratchy and, to be honest, not very warm.
